For many tourists coming to Japan, Daiso has become a must-visit destination! The 100 yen store continues to launch new products, including lots of great cosmetics. This new line of lip tints was released recently, and has become quite popular on social media!
The product comes in 5 different shades – Sweet Orange, Apricot Pink, Sweet Pink, Rose, Juicy Red. I had to double check the names since in the tube, Apricot Pink looks much more orange than Sweet Orange!
But what a surprise! Once I swatched them on my arm, the difference in color was apparent. Sweet Orange is a bright yellow orange color. I had wanted to try a color like this without spending too much money! Apricot Pink is a typical peachy pink color that would probably look great on everyone! Sweet Pink is a slightly cool toned pink. Rose is a dark red that would be great for the fall season. Juicy Red is somewhere between Rose and Apricot Pink.
From left: Sweet Orange, Apricot Pink, Sweet Pink, Rose, Juicy Red
Each tube is pretty small, which I prefer, since it means I can use it up before it gets gunky and gross. The texture is very watery, but the color remains on the lips. The only color which didn’t show up on my lips very well was Sweet Pink.
The doe foot applicator was pretty stiff, which allows good control on the application.
Would I repurchase this? Yes!
This is a review of the Neutrogena Moisture Smooth Color Stick. I have this in the color 10 Juicy Peach.
Last time I was in the US, I noticed that many brands had released lipsticks in chubby pencil form. I tried a few of them, but I am quite picky about my lipsticks since my lips peel easily. I picked up this one from Neutrogena after reading several reviews online.
What it does: (from the Neutrogena website)
Instantly moisturize lips, while continuously conditioning them so they are softer and smoother in just 3 days with nothing on them. Made with fruit extracts along with mango and shea butter, the balm-like formula glides on easily, providing a sheer wash of moisturizing color that lasts for hours. In addition, the twist up package allows for perfect application each time – with no sharpener needed.
Price: As with all US drugstore products, the price will vary depending on where you buy it. Target.com lists this product for $8
Availability: Although Neutrogena is not the most popular of makeup brands, I was able to find this product at several drugstores
- Very moisturizing. I felt like I was applying a balm
- I like that this is a twist up product, so I don’t have to worry about sharpening it
- This color is very natural looking and was a great everyday color
- This product has a very fruity scent which was quite noticeable
- The color is sheer and did not last on my lips. I personally don’t mind, since I would rather reapply lipstick than have my lips peel from a drying product
- This product only comes in 8 colors, which is pretty limited compared to other brands
Would I repurchase? Maybe. I liked the format and the color of this product. Maybe if I find another color that I am interested in, I will buy another one.
In general, I would recommend this product if you are looking for a chubby lipstick pencil, as long as you can find a color that you like, and you are looking for something which is not that pigmented.
Hope you enjoyed this review!
I’m not much of a lipgloss person, but lately I have been using one regularly! This is a review of the Kiko Supergloss in 103 Pearly Beige.
Price: 4.90 Euro (about $6.50) Kiko products are quite cheap in Italy!
Availability: Kiko products can be found in Kiko stores in over 30 countries world wide, including the US.
- Kiko products are affordable (at least in Italy), and this lipgloss comes in over 25 colors
- This product did not irritate my lips
- The product itself is almost colorless.
- I don’t think this product is “non-sticky”
Would I repurchase? Maybe. I wouldn’t go out of my way to buy this lipgloss, but if I were near a Kiko store, I would probably pick up another color.
If you are ever in Italy or other countries where Kiko is available, please stop by their store. They have quite a few interesting products!
The last few times I went to the US, I got on a Jordana kick. Why hadn’t I tried out this brand before? I probably thought that with the price, they couldn’t be so good… but they are. This is a review of the Jordana Twist and Shine Moisturizing Balm Stain in Honey Love, which I purchased on the recommendation of a friend on Instagram.
What it does: (from the Jordana website)
Moisturizing Balm Infused with a Light-Weight Stain. Applies with a Glossy Finish then Transforms into the Perfect Flush of Color, Long-Lasting, Retractable, No Sharpening Required
Price: $2.99. Seriously!
Availability: Jordana is not as widely available in the US as other drugstore brands. I found that even if drugstores had the Jordana display, the selection was very poor sometimes. If you live in the US, Jordana can be purchased through their website.
Swatch: This is a light pink lipstick, slightly darker than the typical “My Lips But Better” shade. As the product says, this is a moisturizing product, but leaves behind a stain.
- I really liked how creamy this product was on my lips
- It did not make my lips flake or peel, unlike most lipsticks
- I like that this is a twist up product. No need to sharpen it, unless you want a point!
- The price is fantastic! I would easily pay 3 times the price
- This product has a rather strong, fruity scent.
Would I repurchase? Definitely. I liked this product a lot and am looking forward to buying more colors!
Hope you enjoyed this review!
I have a love/hate relationship with lipstick. I know it makes me look good, it also makes me feel great, but a lot of lipsticks make my lips peel. Even if I exfoliate my lips before putting on the lipstick, skin will start to peel off within an hour.
This happens to me even with moisturizing lipsticks. Because of this, I don’t really love lipstick… and so I don’t like to spend money on them. This was a great chance for me to try out a high end lipstick brand!
This is a review of the Make Up For Ever Rouge Artist Natural in N9. This was part of the Sephora Beauty Insider birthday gift for 2014.
What it does: (from the MUFE website)
Rouge Artist Natural has an ultra creamy formula that hydrates the lips with a natural sheen. Enriched with a cocktail of vegetal ingredients, made of waxes and Cupuassu Butter, it contains nourishing properties for a moisturizing smooth texture that glides on effortlessly. Its translucent shine reveals pure pearls and pigments for a profusion of 50 luminous shades . Rouge Artist Natural makes it possible to find a color to suit every mood!
Availability: This and other MUFE products are available at MUFE stores, Sephora, MUFE counters in department stores, as well as online.
Swatch: This lipstick is a creamy dark pink color with no shimmer. It is slightly redder than a typical “My Lips But Better” shade, yet I enjoy this color year round.
- This is a very creamy lipstick which did not make my lips peel
- The color as well as the lack of shimmer made this color wearable for every day
- The size that was in the Sephora gift was about half the size of traditional lipsticks. I wish this size were available for purchase normally, since I can never use up a lipstick!
Cons: None, really
Would I repurchase? Yes, I really liked both the color and how it felt on my lips!
I am so glad I got to try out this lipstick! Both the formula and the shade worked for me, and the small size made it a staple in my makeup bag. I wonder why this size is not normally available, from any brand?
Hope you enjoyed this review!
