Empties from November 2015 to February 2016 – Part 1

Here are some of my emptiness from November 2015 to February 2016. I’m always surprised at how many empties people have each month.  I struggle to use up even a whole bottle of shower gel!

(all links go to reviews I have done before)

Milani Shadow Eyez in Champagne Toast

I recommend these eyeshadow pencils so much. They look great by themselves or as a base, and they don’t crease!

YSL Le Teint Encre De Peau foundation

I never did a review on this foundation because when I got it, it was already discontinued. I did not like the applicator, but this gave my skin a nice even finish without looking too cakey.

Skinfood Buckwheat loose powder

I completely forgot about this product until I realized it was taking up a lot of space in my makeup drawer.  It is a finely milled powder that I can apply on top of my makeup without looking too unnatural.

Rimmel Stay Matte pressed powder

While I liked the product itself, I did not like the packaging. The plastic top will crack if you keep the product where it can get squeezed.

Bath and Body Works Aromatherapy Orange Ginger shower gel

This is still one of my favorite scents from Bath and Body Works. If you are looking for a shower gel which isn’t too floral or fruity, take a look at this one.

Bath and Body Works Aromatherapy Lavender Vanilla shower gel

This is another one of my favorites from Bath and Body Works. It is a change to have a vanilla scented product which isn’t very sweet.

Stay tuned for part 2 of my empties!

Monthly Favorites #59: November, 2015

Fall/winter fashion is such a difficult thing for me. I can’t wear wool because it causes rashes, so big chunky sweaters are completely out. I can’t wear turtlenecks and I strongly prefer 3/4 length sleeves. I go shopping every winter looking for something interesting, but I always end up  lost!

On to my favorites!

Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge

Many dupes of the Beauty Blender sponge have come out, but I usually prefer the original because it is softer. In this case, I found that the Real Techniques sponge is as soft and bouncy as the Beauty Blender. In fact, the flat side makes it even easier to apply and blend foundation!

YSL Le Teint Encre De Peau foundation

It looks like this foundation has been discontinued in the US. It feels very light on the skin but the coverage is really good!

YSL le tent encore de peau

Milani Shadow Eyez in Sand Dunes (link goes to my review)

I also mentioned this product last month, and I am still enjoying using this as an eyeshadow base. It really doesn’t crease throughout the day!

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush

I have a love-hate relationship with this blush. I love how it looks on my skin, but I hate how it looks completely different in the pan versus on my skin. For example, see the mauve tone at the end of the palette? It’s called Mood Exposure, and while it looks plummy in the pan, it looks bright pink on my skin!

Using essence / lotion as a daily face mask (link goes to a previous post)

This is a very common skin care technique in Japan. I tend to skip doing it in the summer, but as the weather gets colder, I have been putting more moisturizing products on my skin.

What have you liked this past month?

Thank you! Love from Blair!

Blair sent me a wonderful love package!

She said it was for my birthday.  Yes, my birthday was back in March.  She spent all this time looking for a certain product that she knows I love!!!!!  Thank you SO MUCH for your love!

YSL Fard A Levres Rouge Pur – 148 Tea Rose
I am so excited to use this product.  The claim says it’s a lip color and lip care in one.
Blair knows that my lips peel easily.

My Beauty Diary Masks – Japanese Cherry Blossom / Mixed Berries
I love MBD masks.  They are really hard to find in Japan, even though they are made in Taiwan.

Assorted Coastal Scents loose eyeshadows
I’ve already pressed some of these.  I now have a MAC 15 pan palette consisting solely of loose eyeshadows that I’ve pressed.  I love the color payoff of loose eyeshadows but I hate the mess.  I also find that pressing them gives them better payoff, probably because I use a binder.
And finally…
Fair & Lovely Skin Clarity Anti-Marks Fairness Cream
This is the product that Blair searched high and low for!
Blair originally sent me this product a very long time ago, and I loved it so much that it got a place on my 2009 favorites.  Blair, thank you so much for looking so hard for this!!!  You are so sweet!

A sweet note, candies and samples

I love getting these sweet notes from blogger girls.  I keep all of them pasted in an album.

Thank you again, Blair, for your love!  Blair is probably the first friend I made on blogger, and I’m so glad we are still friends!!!

On a totally separate note, I recently bought this:
Mixed whole pepper

Mixed whole pepper is hard for me to find where I live, so I bought some online from a spice dealer.  I ground some of these in my spice mill and OH WOW.  They smell and taste NOTHING like pepper that I’m used to.  I finally understand why some perfumes have pepper in their notes.  It was almost fruity.  Wow, I am so glad I bought pepper from this store!!

Hope your week went well!
