Empties from November 2015 to February 2016 – Part 2

This is part 2 of my recent empties. Where do you normally keep your empties?

(all links go to reviews I have done before)

Marc Jacobs Honey Eau de Parfum

I liked this scent quite a lot, and am considering buying the full sized bottle.

IMG_7084

Tory Burch Eau de Perfume

This is a great scent for the young professional woman.  It is feminine without smelling too sweet, and is not offensive – but be careful how much you apply!

IMG_7219

Viktor & Rolf Flowerbomb Eau de Parfum

I did not know when I tried this product that it is such a popular fragrance! This was heavier than most scents I am used to wearing, so I am glad I got to try it in the cooler months.

IMG_7221

Bath and Body Works Ultra Shea Body Cream in White Tea & Ginger

I liked this body cream much, much better than Bath and Body Works’ normal body lotions.

IMG_7391

Nivea Sun Protect Water Gel

This is a sunscreen that I apply on my face every single day. It provides SPF 50+ without making my face greasy. It contains alcohol though, so don’t apply it to your face if you have sensitive skin.

IMG_7395

Sea Breeze Deo & Water Frozen Mint

This is a new product in the Sea Breeze Deo & Water line, and has a stronger menthol feeling. It was very refreshing in the summer, but too cold in the cooler months.

IMG_7199

Bath and Body Works Sparkling Limeade candle

I liked the scent of this candle, but as you can see from the black marks on the container, this did not burn evenly.  I’ve realized that Bath and Body Works don’t sell many of their candles in the small size anymore!

IMG_7080

The Body Shop Lavender Home Fragrance Oil

This was a nice lavender scent.  If you are looking for a pure lavender oil, this is not the right product, but it is great if you are looking for a lavender scented oil

Those are all of my recent empties! What products have you used recently?

Throwback Thursday: Favorites from August

Here are my favorites from August 2014 and 2011. It looks like I didn’t do a favorites in August 2013 or 2012.

In August 2014, I liked:

Martha Tilaar Caring Colours Everlast BB cream (link goes to my review)

I am still loving this, and in fact, I am almost out of this! I’ve been trying to get through it this summer, and it looks like I may just accomplish my goal!

Martha Tilaar Caring Colours Everlast BB Cream

Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circles Concealer Treatment (link goes to my review)

Since this is not sold in Japan, I never got a chance to buy it again after using it up. I was surprised at how much I liked it, considering my dislike for applicators that cannot be cleaned.

Revlon ColorBurst Matte Balm in Elusive (link goes to my review)

This is a great color that I love using in the summer!

Revlon ColorBurst Matte Lip Balm in Elusive

Jordana Color Tint Blush Stick in Blushed (link goes to my review)

This is my go-to cheek product in the summer, and I am definitely using it almost daily even now!

In August 2011, I liked:

The Body Shop’s Tobacco Flower perfume

Ahhh… this is a cult favorite.  This perfume was very popular when I was in high school, and got discontinued. It was re-released for a limited time a few years ago, and I immediately picked it up. I am still looking for a perfume which is similar to this one!

I’m surprised to see how many of these products are still my favorites. It looks like I don’t change up my routine a lot during the summer!

Empties for April to June, 2015

Here are my empties from April to June.  For the past few months, I have been trying to use up my stash.  I have a lot of skin care items which I want to use up before they expire!

St Ives Oatmeal Scrub and Mask (link goes to my review)

I heard that the St Ives line was reformulated recently. This was a very creamy cleanser with exfoliating particles. I liked it, but it depends on how much exfoliating you want from your cleanser. I’m interested to try the (infamous) Apricot Scrub some day, since I tried it once many years ago.

IMG_6926

Bath and Body Works Endless Weekend Body Lotion (link goes to my review)

This was part of my haul that I did in Hawaii in February. I didn’t like this scent that much as it was very fruity.

IMG_6886

Bath and Body Works Wild Madagascar Vanilla (link goes to my review)

I liked this lotion a lot more, and it seems that I am very much drawn to vanilla scents these days.

IMG_6917

Bath and Body Works Eucalyptus Spearmint Shower Gel (link goes to my review)

I used to love this scent, but now it smells like toilet cleaner to me. On a side note, I have only one Bath and Body Works product left in my stash!

IMG_6922

The Body Shop Aloe & Soft Linen Home Fragrance Oil (link goes to my review)

I am not sure what aloe smells like, but this was a faintly sweet, fresh smelling fragrance oil.

IMG_6934

Lush Yummy Mummy shower gel (link goes to my review)

I was not a fan of the smell, but it was purple! and glittery! Can you believe that I have NO Lush products in my stash now? My last bottle of shower gel will be used up in a few days!

IMG_6940

Dove Advanced Care antiperspirant

Antiperspirants are only just becoming popular in Japan, so I have very little experience with them. I bought this in the US and was amazed at how it kept me dry throughout the day.

IMG_6907

Sea Breeze deodorant (link goes to my review)

This is what I use to keep my body odor at bay. It is also very cooling.

Empties for January to March, 2015

Empties are a very interesting type of blog post for me to read.  What is it about people’s trash that is so exciting? Maybe it is because I want to see what people really use up and what people weren’t able to use up… as apposed to some favorites posts and videos that seem a little too commercial-y.

At the same time, I’m always amazed that people can use up so many products in only 1 month. I think I use up only a few skin or body products each month.  Don’t get me started on makeup – it takes FOREVER for me to use up a powder product!

Here is what I used up in January, February, and March.

Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay-In-Place makeup

This was a gift from a friend, and I totally loved it! I also randomly found a pump which fit as well. Interestingly, I also found that the shade name is different in some parts of the world.  I have already repurchased this product!

IMG_6715

Revlon Colorstay foundation for Combination/Oily skin in Sand Beige

This was my go-to foundation for a very long time. Although it looks thick and cakey if I apply it normally, it looks very natural when worn sheered out. The product shown here is the American version – the Japanese version comes with a pump, and costs more than twice the cost of the American one!

IMG_6706

Urban Decay All Nighter Makeup Setting Spray

This is the second bottle of this that I have used up.  This helps my makeup to last, although it is less effective in the summer when I sweat it all off. I still haven’t found anything like an antiperspirant for the face, so please let me know if such a product exists!

IMG_6703

L’Occitane Shea Butter Hand Cream

This is one of the small tubes sold at Sephora. I like it better than the full sized tubes because it is easier to squeeze out product from these. This product smells pretty strongly of shea butter.

IMG_6096_final

Bath and Body Works Shea Cashmere Hand Cream

This product has a very strong scent. While I liked how it kept my hands moisturized, I didn’t like how strong it smelled.

IMG_6695

ROC Retinol Correxion Deep Wrinkle Filler

I usually pick up a retinol cream when I go to the US. This was just the level of moisture that I wanted in the winter.

IMG_6710

Lush Hot Toddy shower gel
(link goes to my review)

This was a limited edition shower gel that I picked up for the holidays. It smelled like cinnamon and had biodegradable glitter!

IMG_6697

Bath and Body Works Velvet Tuberose shower gel

I usually only buy travel sized shower gels because I get tired of the scent before I can finish it…and as expected, this took FOREVER to use up!!

IMG_6699

The Body Shop Ginger Sparkle Home Fragrance Oil
(link goes to my review)

This is a home fragrance that I picked up when I visited Hawaii last winter. The Ginger Sparkle scent is a line of products that comes out each Christmas at The Body Shop. I enjoy how the scent smells like the holidays without being a sweet scent.

IMG_6723

Bath and Body Works Lanikai Coconut Candle

This is a 3-wick candle from Bath and Body Works. I typically stay away from 3-wick candles because I don’t burn them long enough for them to burn evenly. You can see that the soot accumulated on the container because of this.

IMG_6692

Bath and Body Works Cinnamon Sugared Doughnut Candle
(
link goes to my review)

I bought this candle during my recent trip to the US, and I was surprised at how much I liked it! I usually stay clear of overly sweet candles, but this was spicy enough that I enjoyed burning it.

Hope you enjoyed seeing my empties!  Are there any products you used up recently that you would recommend I try?

Empties Jan – Sep 2014 part 1

Can you believe that I haven’t done an empties post in 10 months!?!?  Even though I hauled a lot of things when I went to New York in the spring, I haven’t used up a lot of things. I am going to Hawaii again next year, so hopefully I will clear up some space in my closet and make room for a haul!

Since I haven’t done an empties post in such a long time, I have so many empties to share with you, so this is a 2 part post.

Lush Pineapple Grunt soap
This soap should be called Pina Colada soap since it smells pretty strongly of coconut as well as pineapple.  This was a fun soap to use and created a firm lather.

IMG_4522_final

The Body Shop Ginger Sparkle Body Butter

(link goes to my review)
I really liked the scent of this product, being spicy and sweet but not too sweet. I would pick it up during this holiday season as well.

IMG_4576_final

Bath and Body Works Sparkling Icicles candle

(link goes to my review)
This was a great scent for my room, being fresh and not too sharp.  I enjoy the BBW candles although I don’t have a chance to purchase them very frequency.

IMG_4591_final

Bath and Body Works Snowday candle
(link goes to my review)
This was a very sweet candle and smelled strongly of vanilla. If you like sweet scents, you might really enjoy this candle.

IMG_4592_final

Bath and Body Works Velvet Tuberose body lotion
Wow, I purchased this product in 2010!  It takes me so long to get through a full-sized BBW product that I prefer to purchase a travel size.

IMG_4598_final

Kiko Mat Fluid
(link goes to my review)
This was a product I purchased during my trip to Italy in 2013.  Kiko is a great brand with affordable prices, and I recommend you check it out if you have a chance to go to Italy.

IMG_4602_final

Bath and Body Works Moonlight Path body lotion
Moonlight Path was one of the first scents that I tried from BBW, and judging from the packaging, I probably had this bottle for a long time!

IMG_4639_final

Bath and Body Works Velvet Sugar body lotion
(link goes to my review)
This was a very sweet scent, smelling like strawberries and sugar, similar to Kool-Aid. This was the first time I tried a BBW product with the new packaging, and I really liked it.

IMG_4704_final

Lush Reincarnate Solid Shampoo
(link goes to my review)
This solid shampoo was just so-so.  It is supposed to make my hair color more vibrant, but I did not notice any change.

IMG_4706_final

Rimmel Fix and Perfect Pro primer
(link goes to my review)
This is an old favorite of mine.  Rimmel now has a matte version which I prefer, but I would recommend this one if you have drier skin.

IMG_4945_final

Wow, that was a long post!  Stay tuned for Part 2!
