Review: Sleek Makeup i-Divine palette in Acid

This is a review of the Sleek Makeup i-Divine palette in Acid. Sleek eyeshadow palettes are mineral based and often shimmery, but this palette contains 9 matte colors and only 3 shimmery colors.

What it does: (from the Sleek website)
Sleek MakeUP’s legendary i-Divine palettes are 12 shades of super-pigmented, longlasting, mineral based eyeshadow, designed to suit all. Each i-Divine contains pearlescent shades, which contain mica particles that highlight and illuminate giving an overal radiant effect.
Acid contains a fusion of vibrant colour for the more daring. With a hyper bright pink to neon green and yellow amongst the 12 shades. Each shade can be worn alone for a dramatic look or mixed for a colourful rainbow effect.

Price: $11.99 on the Sleek website. 7.99 GBP ($13.34 USD) on the Superdrug or Boots website.

Availability: Sleek is a British brand.  In the UK, it is widely available at both Superdrug and Boots, two of the biggest British drugstores. Sleek products are also shipped globally through the Sleek website.

Pros:

  • Most of the colors had pretty good pigmentation
  • If you like neon colors, this palette is an affordable option
  • There is also a matte black included to tie the look together

Cons:

  • The white eyeshadow was rock solid and did not swatch well even on my finger.
  • In general, the shimmery colors (the 2 blues on the top and the 1 blue on the bottom) have better pigmentation
  • I am not sure why Sleek decided that the 3 blue eyeshadows should all be pigmented?

Would I repurchase? No. Although in general I like Sleek products and the i-Divine eyeshadow palettes, I would pass on this one. If you want neon eyeshadows, there are several indie brands which have better products.

Unfortunately this product did not work for me, but I hope I can pick up some more i-Divine eyeshadow palettes and Sleek products next time I am in the UK!

Hope you enjoyed this review!

Review: Sleek i-Divine eyeshadow palette in Sunset

This is a review of the Sleek i-Divine eyeshadow palette in Sunset.  Sleek is a drugstore brand available in the UK.

Price: 5 GBP at Superdrug in the UK, $12 online in the US

Availability: In the UK, this product can be found at drugstores such as Superdrug and Boots.  In the US, this product can be found online, including on Sleek’s website.

Swatches:

Top row

Bottom row

Pros:

  • As with all Sleek palettes, the eyeshadows are extremely pigmented
  • This product is a great value for money at $12 for 12 eyeshadows
  • The palette comes with a big mirror

Cons:

  • These eyeshadows have some fallout.
  • In general, these colors are easy to use… except for the blue one. Why is there a blue eyeshadow in a palette called “Sunset”?
  • Many of these colors are extremely similar.  I wish there were a purple or green eyeshadow.
Would I repurchase?  No. I would look for a different color combination.
Hope you enjoyed this review!

Review: Sleek i-Divine eyeshadow palette in Safari

This is a review of the Sleek i-Divine eyeshadow palette in Safari.  Sleek is a drugstore brand available in the UK. I found out about the brand because of two makeup artists on Youtube, Pixiwoo and Lisa Eldridge.

Sleek often releases limited edition i-Divine palettes, and this is one of them. Although it is no longer available on the Sleek website, it can be found online pretty easily.

Price: 5 GBP at Superdrug in the UK, $10 online in the US

Swatches:

Top row

Bottom row

Pros:

  • The eyeshadows are extremely pigemented and easy to blend
  • 12 great eyeshadows for $10 is a great value for money
  • The palette comes with a big mirror
  • This color combination is easy for me to use

Cons:

  • These eyeshadows have some fallout. I make sure not to apply too much to my brush.  Tapping off the brush also helps

Would I repurchase? Yes, this is a great value for money!

Hope you enjoyed this review!

Sleek Twitter prize

In mid-August, I won a twitter giveaway hosted by Sleek Makeup.  Sleek is a drugstore brand in the UK which is well known in the blogger world for their eyeshadow palettes.

The original prize was a set of 20 brushes and an eyeshadow palette with Swarovski crystals.

The brushes with a brush belt
I haven’t had a chance to use these yet.  Sleek hinted that these were going to be released soon.  At this point, I don’t think Sleek has any brushes available.

Inside – the Graphite palette
I’m curious why they decided to decorate this palette.  The Graphite palette is a limited edition palette which has already been discontinued and is not available on the Sleek website, nor did I see it in any stores in the UK.

Due to some mishaps at Sleek, the prize package wasn’t sent out for a month.  Sleek kindly apologized to me, and added to my prize as a way of making up.  The extras were a couple of lip glosses and one of each of i-Divine palette that they had in stock!

I slipped these in a package for someone!

Many thanks to Sleek for their generousity.
Separately, I bought the Safari Palette, which is also limited edition and has already been discontinued.  Surprisingly, I was able to buy this at almost the retail price.

I’ll be getting a lot of use out of these palettes!
