Throwback: Favorites from February

Here is a look back at my favorites from February 2014 and 2015.

In February 2015, I liked:

L’Oreal Infallible Eye Shadow Crayon in Everlasting Gold

I effectively used this up!  It was a great chubby eye pencil, equally good as an eye base and as an all over eyeshadow.

Nichido 7x Volume Curl mascara (link goes to my review)

Nichido is a local brand that I found in the Philippines. These products were super affordable, and I liked this mascara a lot. If I ever have a chance to go to the Philippines again, I will definitely check this out!

Airless pump for foundation

I get these airless pump bottles at Daiso and other 100 yen stores. They are made of plastic, and are a hygienic way to store your foundations that come without a pump!

In February 2014, I liked:

Real Techniques Expert Face Brush (link goes to my review)
I currently use sponges to apply my foundation, but if you like brushes better, this is the foundation brush that I recommend. It is soft, very affordable, and buffs your foundation in to a natural finish.
Sally Hansen Salon Effects in Misbehaved
(picture from my instagram account)
I haven’t been wearing anything on my nails in a very long time… They are no longer shown on the Sally Hansen website, so it looks like they may have been discontinued!  Oh dear – I liked them a lot!
Ahh yes, one of my favorite foundations ever. I think I talk about this product waaayyyy too much! This is only one of two foundations that I have ever repurchased.
Hope you enjoyed seeing my past favorites!

Throwback: Favorites from January

Here is a look back at my favorites from January 2014 and 2015. Can you believe that 2015 is already 2 years ago!?

In January 2015, I liked:

Nichido Multiple Stick in South Beach (link goes to my review)

Nichido is a local brand in the Philippines. It is quite affordable, and I really liked this blush.

Nichido 7x Volume Curl mascara (link goes to my review)

This is another Nichido product that I enjoyed. And it was only $7!

Bumble and Bumble Surf Spray (link goes to my review)

LOVE! I really enjoy salt sprays in my hair, and the Bumble and Bumble Surf Spray is the original. It smells great, and the mist is distributed in my hair evenly. There are drugstore salt sprays available now, but I have a soft spot for this product.

In January 2014, I liked:

Martha Tilaar Caring Colours BB cream (link goes to my review)

Martha Tilaar is a local Indonesian brand, and I really, really enjoyed this BB cream. It was affordable, made my skin look even, and stayed on in the hot humid weather.

L’Oreal Infallible eyeshadows in Forever Pink and Sahara Treasure

I still love the L’Oreal Infallible eyeshadows, and I’m always on a hunt for new colors.

Revlon ColorBurst Lip Butter in Creme Brulee (link goes to my review)

This is a great line for people like me who don’t wear lipstick on a regular basis.  I especially like this color to tone down lipsticks which are too bright.

Neutrogena Wet Skin SPF 85+

I always buy a bottle of this when I go to Hawaii, and I end up using it all in the week or so that I am there. Spray sunscreens are very convenient, but liquid sunscreens seem to provide better protection for me. However, in the end, the key is to apply sunscreen regularly, so I’ll use whatever works.

Hope you enjoyed seeing my past favorites!

Monthly Favorites #50: February, 2015

Am I the only person who starts writing the wrong year in February?  In January, I tend to be very careful to write the correct year.  I guess I am not that careful in February because I always start writing the previous year.  I’ll have to be careful this year to write 2015 instead of 2014.

On to my Favorites!

L’Oreal Infallible Eye Shadow Crayon in Everlasting Gold

This was a gift from a friend and I love it!  As long as I blend it out on my eyes, it lasts all day without creasing, even without a primer underneath.  A lot of gold eyeshadows look greenish on my eyelids, but this looks exactly like the color of the pencil.  This is definitely going to be one of my go-to looks when I am busy. Nichido 7x Volume Curl mascara (link goes to my review)

This was an unexpected find in the Philippines. I really like how this mascara gives me volume without clumping, and doesn’t transfer under my eyes the whole day.

Airless pump for foundation

I heard that Daiso (a 100 yen store, similar to a dollar store in the US) carried airless pumps for cosmetics, but I hadn’t been able to find this until recently.  It definitely works, and I love it for my foundations that don’t have pumps. (picture from my Instagram)

What have you been loving recently?

Review: Nichido Multiple Stick in South Beach

This is a review of yet another product I picked up in the Philippines, the Nichido Multiple Stick in South Beach.  I have been a huge lover of cream blushes this past year since picking up a few last April, and this has been a great addition to my collection!

The packaging is the exact same size and shape as my Jordana cream blushes.  The packaging must be made by the same manufacturer!

Nichido South Beach

Price: 188 PHP, about $4.50

Swatch:  This product is a warm-toned reddish color, similar to the natural color on my cheeks when I blush

Nichido South Beach

Pros:

  • Very affordable, as with all Nichido products
  • This is a very creamy product that does not skip or drag on my skin
  • I really like the color
  • This product lasts fairly well on my skin

Cons:

  • Because this is called a Multiple Stick, I tried it out on my lips, but it was a little too drying for me

Would I repurchase? Yes! If Nichido is available where you live and Jordana is not, I really recommend these!

Hope you enjoyed my review!

Review: Nichido Eyeshadow in Bronze Eclair

Since starting blogging, I have found out that I am not the only one who buys tons and tons of eyeshadow that are similar shades of brown/taupe/whatever.  They go with everything!  I use them a lot!  They are all a little bit different!  Yes, I know these are all excuses…

I picked up only 1 eyeshadow while I was in the Philippines, and of course, it had to be another browny shade.  This is a review of the Nichido Eyeshadow in Bronze Eclair.

Nichido Bronze Eclair

Price: 68 PHP, around $1.50 USD.  This is an extremely affordable eyeshadow!

Swatch:

This is one swipe of the eyeshadow without primer. It is very pigmented!

NichidoBronzeEclairSwatch

Pros:

  • This is a very pigmented eyeshadow!
  • This product is very affordable

Cons:

  • If you look closely at the swatch, you can see that the product pills slightly.  This product has a very creamy eyeshadow. If I wear primer underneath, it creases like crazy
  • This product has a screw top, which is a bit of a pain to use

Would I repurchase? Maybe.  If you can get your hands on this product at the original price in the Philippines, I think it is a great value for money!

I hope you enjoyed my review!
