Throwback: Favorites from September

Here is a look back at my favorites from September 2014 and 2015!  This month, my favorites seems to be a collection of my holy grails.  I guess I really like my summer products!

In September 2015, I liked:

MAC Blot Powder

I recently started using this again, after using up my previous setting powder. I like keeping it in my purse to touch up.

MAC Blot Powder

Daiso Eyebrow coat (link goes to my review)

This is a must have product in my collection. I apply it to my eyebrows to keep the color in place.  Several brands have a similar product in their line up, but you can’t beat the 100 yen price at Daiso!

Daiso Ever Bilena Eyebrow Coat

Daiso Eyeliner coat

Seriously, I can’t believe that I haven’t written a review of this product yet! I use this product daily to keep my eyeliner in place. It is especially amazing in my lower lash line!

Shirt Cool (link goes to my review)

I keep talking about this product, and it is seriously amazing!  I use it every day if I think I will sweat.

Gatsby Ice Deodorant Body Paper (link goes to my review)

Yet another one of my holy grails! This is the best body paper on the market – or at least, the one which cools me down the most!!

In September 2014, I liked:

Make Up For Ever Mat Velvet + Foundation   (link goes to my review)

I just used up this foundation. I really like the container, and the product works well on my skin most of the year!

Jordana Color Tint Blush in Coral Touch (link goes to my review)

I miss this product… I’m so disappointed that Jordana is no longer widely available!

Real Techniques Expert Face Brush (link goes to my review)

I have been using sponges for the past year or so, but this is still my favorite face brush. It is so soft, it is synthetic, and it is affordable!

Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Brazilian Tan

I really should dig up this lipstick! It is a great color, and I remember how I searched all over New York to find it.  Fortunately, one of my Twitter friends told me exactly which drugstore I should go to to find it!

Hope you enjoyed seeing my old favorites!

Throwback: Favorites from August

It’s been a while since I revisited my old favorites on my blog.  I did a huge clean out when I moved, so hopefully this throwback will remind me of some forgotten favorites!

In August 2015, I liked:

Shirt Cool (link goes to my review)

This is a spray that you apply to your clothes, and it keeps you cool for about 30 minutes.  This is a must have product for me every summer! I buy a bottle in May, and it lasts until the end of September.  This definitely works!

Jordana Cosmetics Color Tint Blush Sticks (link goes to my review)

I used these up and didn’t repurchase them again. I tried to find Jordana cosmetics when I was last in the US, but it was VERY hard to find anything.   Isn’t it such a bummer when a product you like is discontinued?

Daiso eyebrow coat

This is a gel which helps eyebrow products last longer.  LOVE LOVE LOVE.  I use this year round! Other brands have also released similar products, but you can’t go wrong with $1!

Daiso Ever Bilena Eyebrow Coat

Gatsby Body Wipes (link goes to my review)

Another must have for me in the summer. These are big sheets to wipe down your body with, and the cooling sensation lasts for a while. I’m on my second pack this summer!

Sparkly Soul headbands

I can’t believe it’s been a year since I was introduced to these headbands! I love them for when I run. They keep my hair out of my face, and they don’t slide off.

In August 2014, I liked:

Martha Tilaar Caring Colours Everlast BB cream (link goes to my review)
This is a local brand that I picked up in Indonesia.  It was surprisingly affordable!

Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circles Concealer Treatment (link goes to my review)

I really liked this product to conceal my undereye circles. I may need to repurchase it when I’m in the US!

Revlon ColorBurst Matte Balm in Elusive (link goes to my review)

I loved the color! Unfortunately, I don’t think I like how matte lip products look on my lips, so I didn’t repurchase this.

Wow, it seems like I was using these products just yesterday!

Monthly Favorites #73: August, 2017

Ack, I’ve been away from blogging so much!  I realized my last post is from… March!!! Oh wow.

An update on my life? A lot has changed.

  • I got a new job
  • I moved to Tokyo

The move was a little unexpected, and my new apartment is about half the size of my old one.  I’ve had to downsize a lot!

Here is what I have been loving in August!

MAC Stereo Rose MSF

This is a much hyped product which was last released in 2010. I rediscovered it while I was moving and have made an effort to use it more! It is a VERY shimmery blush.

Shirt Cool by Kobayashi Pharmaceuticals

This is a spray that you apply to your clothes, and it keeps you cool for about 30 minutes.  This summer has been pretty cool, but it is still humid and I find lots of uses for this.

Urban Decay Naked Palette

Another old favorite which I rediscovered during my move. I have the original Naked palette, as well as the 2 and 3, and I think I like this the best.

What have you been loving this month?

Throwback Thursday: Favorites from October

Here is a look back at my favorites from October 2013 and 2014.

In October 2014, I liked:

Pressed mineral shadows (link goes to my review)

I recently decluttered my eyeshadow collection, which made me realize how much I like certain shades. The Barry M Dazzle Dust in Mushroom is a beautiful taupe purple.

Maybelline Face Studio Master Glaze Blush Stick in Just Pinched Pink (link goes to my review)

I no longer own this, because the cap cracked past repair.  Cream blushes work better for me in the summer, but some people prefer them in the fall.

Shirt Cool spray (link goes to my review)

This is a must have for me in the hot months. I buy a bottle of it as soon as the weather starts to get warm. It smells strongly of menthol, though.

In October 2013, I liked:

Revlon ColorStay Whipped Creme Foundation (link goes to my review)

Remember when everyone was raving about this foundation? It seems like no one talks about Revlon foundations anymore. I was so surprised to see that Revlon foundations are like, $14 at the drugstore! I could buy something from Sephora for that price!!

Ecotools Bamboo bronzer brush (link goes to my review)

I’m not sure if this brush is still sold, but I still strongly recommend Ecotools brushes. They are all very soft, affordable, and eco-friendly.

It’s always interesting to see that some of my old favorites are staples in my collection, while I have totally forgotten about others!

Empties from August 2016

It’s pretty rare that I do an empties post two months in a row. It seems I’ve been using up a lot of the stuff in my stash!

MAC Blot Powder

Wow, I’m surprised that I don’t have a review of this product, especially considering how many times I have repurchased this! I’ll buy a new one next time I go to the US.

IMG_8056

MAC Studio Fix Concealer

Amazing how I used it all up! This is a thick concealer, and I found that it works best when pressed into the skin using a Beauty Blender.

IMG_8058

Shu Uemura Skin Primer Makeup Remover

I really, really hated this makeup remover. It stung my eyes, was greasy and did not rinse clean, and had a strong scent.

IMG_8085

Bath and Body Works Stress Relief Eucalyptus Tea Shower Gel

This was a new Bath and Body Works scent that I tried.  It was a pleasant scent.

IMG_8087

Bath and Body Works French Lavender and Honey Shower Gel (link goes to my review)

This is one of the Bath and Body Works products that I picked up in the US. If you like sweet, floral scents, this might be good for you.

IMG_8053

Bath and Body Works A Thousand Wishes shower gel (link goes to my review)

This was significantly sweeter than what I usually purchase, but it was a good change.

IMG_8069

Gatsby Ice Deodorant Body Paper (link goes to my review)

This is one of my go-to products for the summer. This is a travel sized packet that I bring with me on vacation.

IMG_8067

Hugo perfume

This is a men’s perfume that I tried out. It was an interesting scent for me to wear.

IMG_8081

Shirt Cool (link goes to my review)

Another go-to product for the summer. This is a menthol spray that is sprayed on the clothes.

IMG_8091

L’Occitane Hand Cream (link goes to my review)

This is a famous hand cream, and I like using it more in the summer than the winter.

Hope you enjoyed seeing my empties!
