Throwback: Favorites from March

It’s the time of the month to revisit some old favorites!   Here is a look back at my favorites from 2014 and 2015!

In March 2015, I liked:

Barry M Dazzle Dust in Rose Gold
(picture from my Instagram)

I used up this eyeshadow a while ago!  I haven’t bought a new Barry M Dazzle Dust in a few years, and I hope they are still as good as I remember!

L’Oreal Voluminous Miss Manga mascara (link goes to my review)

While I initially liked this mascara, it ended up smudging under my eyes.  I really like that L’Oreal mascaras click shut, so if I recommend them if you can find a formula that works for you.

Putting foundation into little squeeze tubes for traveling
(picture from my Instagram)

This is still the way I carry my foundation when I am traveling. I use bottles which are intended to put into bentos, which don’t leak and are 8 for $1!

In March 2014, I liked:

Revlon ColorStay Whipped Creme Foundation (link goes to my review)

This was one of my favorite foundations for a very long time. However, Revlon foundations have gotten really expensive, and I can find better foundations at a department store.

Dejavu Lasting Fine R Pencil eyeliner (link goes to my review)

I haven’t repurchased this in a while, but it is a great long lasting pencil eyeliner.

Urban Decay Naked 3 palette

Between the Barry M pigment I liked in 2015, and the Naked 3 palette I liked in 2014, apparently I like rose gold in March!  I still own this palette and I use it regularly.

Wow, this month I am only using  2 of the 6 products I used to like!

Throwback Thursday: Favorites from October

Here is a look back at my favorites from October 2013 and 2014.

In October 2014, I liked:

Pressed mineral shadows (link goes to my review)

I recently decluttered my eyeshadow collection, which made me realize how much I like certain shades. The Barry M Dazzle Dust in Mushroom is a beautiful taupe purple.

Maybelline Face Studio Master Glaze Blush Stick in Just Pinched Pink (link goes to my review)

I no longer own this, because the cap cracked past repair.  Cream blushes work better for me in the summer, but some people prefer them in the fall.

Shirt Cool spray (link goes to my review)

This is a must have for me in the hot months. I buy a bottle of it as soon as the weather starts to get warm. It smells strongly of menthol, though.

In October 2013, I liked:

Revlon ColorStay Whipped Creme Foundation (link goes to my review)

Remember when everyone was raving about this foundation? It seems like no one talks about Revlon foundations anymore. I was so surprised to see that Revlon foundations are like, $14 at the drugstore! I could buy something from Sephora for that price!!

Ecotools Bamboo bronzer brush (link goes to my review)

I’m not sure if this brush is still sold, but I still strongly recommend Ecotools brushes. They are all very soft, affordable, and eco-friendly.

It’s always interesting to see that some of my old favorites are staples in my collection, while I have totally forgotten about others!

Empties from March to May 2016

These are my empties from March to May.  I love seeing people’s empties and hearing what people thought about the product!

(All links go to my reviews)

Aveeno Positively Radiant Skin Brightening Daily Scrub

This is a facial scrub which I used as a facial cleanser. With a face wash net, it foamed up nicely.

Nivea Sun Protect Water Gel

This is my go-to facial SPF.  It has alcohol in it, which may not work for some people, but I really like this SPF because it does not make my skin greasy.

Barry M Dazzle Dust in Mushroom

This is a purply taupe color which was extremely popular in the beauty blogger community a few years ago. Barry M products are extremely affordable in the UK, and I recommend the brand highly.

MKB cleansing oil

A review of this product is coming up! I bought this on a whim because I was running out of cleansing oil.  It was surprisingly good!

IMG_7969

Living Lalique Eau de Perfume

This was a light perfume which was very feminine.
IMG_7422

Fresh Life Eau de Parfum

This is a floral-citrus scent.  I liked the scent, but I felt that it wasn’t worth the price.
IMG_7425

Cartier La Panthere Eau de Parfum

This is a musky floral perfume. I felt that the scent was generic and definitely not worth the price.

IMG_7452

Bath and Body Works White Tea and Ginger shower gel

This scent is a discontinued line which is periodically brought back.  It smells like sweet ice tea to me.
IMG_7429

YuskinA hand cream

This is a very thick hand cream which is well-loved in Japan. It helped my hands a lot this past winter.

IMG_7446

Seabreeze Deo+Water deodorant

My go-to deodorant! I always have one on hand.

Hope you enjoyed my empties!

Throwback Thursday: Favorites from April

A little late, but better than never! Here are my favorites from April 2013 and 2014.

All links go to my reviews.

In April 2014, I liked:

Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay in Place Makeup

I think I go back to this foundation every year when the weather gets warm.  Right now, I am wearing the MUFE Mat Velvet+, but I think I need to get out this foundation soon.

IMG_6715

Barry M Dazzle Dusts

I still think these are great.  They are so affordable, and come in many different colors!

In April 2013, I liked:

Lush Cynthia Sylvia Stout Beer Shampoo

This was a limited edition product which I didn’t get to repurchase. I thought that the beer aspect was just a marketing ploy, but the shampoo turned out to be much better than I expected! I hope they rerelease this some time!

Maybelline the Colossal Volum Express Mascara

This is one of the few mascaras that I have ever repurchased.  The brush is massive, and takes some getting used to.  However,  I liked how it made my eyelashes look full without sticking together, and it did NOT smudge under my eyes!

MAC Blot Powder

This is a product which I regularly repurchase when I am in the US.  It does a great job at taking away the shine on my face without looking cakey. I have yet to find a good alternative at the drugstore!

Throwback Thursday: Favorites from March

It is time to take a look at my previous favorites! I usually revisit my favorites from 2 & 3 years ago. It looks like I didn’t do a March 2013 favorites, so I am revisiting my favorites from March 2014 and 2015 this time.

In March 2014, I liked:

Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay in Place Makeup

I really enjoyed this foundation.  It is one of the few liquid foundations that I ever used up!  When I went to repurchase it, I realized that the shade names and numbers are not the same in Asia and the US!

Barry M Dazzle Dusts (link goes to my review)

The Barry M Dazzle Dusts are great loose pigments that can be purchased for a very reasonable price at UK drugstores. There are a wide range of colors and the pigmentation is fantastic!

In March 2015, I liked:

Barry M Dazzle Dust in Rose Gold

Wow, the Barry M Dazzle Dusts came up again! This was a fantastic color, with a strong gold sparkle.  It was my go-to daily eyeshadow for a very long time.

L’Oreal Voluminous Miss Manga mascara (link goes to my review)

Surprisingly, I realized later on that this was not the best mascara for me. I liked how it gave my eyelashes a lot of volume, but it was clumpy and also transferred under my eyes.

Putting foundation in squeeze tubes

This is something I started to do for traveling.  The squeeze tubes I used are normally used for putting soy sauce in bento boxes, so I don’t need to worry about leakage. Plus, they are easily available in packs of 6 or more for $1.

Hope you enjoyed revisiting my favorites!
