This is a review of the Bath and Body Works Ultra Shea Body Cream in White Tea and Ginger.

This was a popular scent that was discontinued, and is brought back periodically.

Scent: This product smells like sweet tea to me. After it dries down, it leaves behind a sweet scent which lasts for a while.

Pros:

  • This product moisturizes my skin better than the regular Bath and Body Works body lotions. I prefer this product in the cooler months
  • I like the scent!  It is not overpowering

Cons:

  • The scent lasts on my skin for quite some time. I usually prefer that the scent of my body lotion dissipates after a few hours.

Would I repurchase? Probably yes.  I liked this body cream better than the body lotions that I normally buy, and this is a nice scent!

Review: Eucerin Aquaphor Healing Ointment

This past winter, my skin was extremely dry. I could not even wear body lotion because the fragrance irritated me! I also got massive cracks on my heels.  I picked up the Eucerin Aquaphor Healing Ointment to combat this dryness!Aquaphor healing ointment

What it does: (from the Eucerin website)

Advanced Healing for Dry, Cracked or Irritated Skin. Aquaphor Healing Ointment protects dry, cracked or irritated skin to help enhance the natural healing process and restore smooth, healthy skin. Multi-purpose ointment helps heal raw, irritated skin caused by radiation treatments, facial resurfacing procedures and eczema. Soothes and helps protect extremely dry, chapped or chafed skin and lips caused by winter weather or frequent hand washing. Soothes and protects minor burns
Fragrance-free, preservative-free, non-irritating, and ideal for sensitive skin.

Price: The price of this product will vary depending on where you buy it. Walgreens.com lists this product for $6.30

Availability: This product is available in drugstores and supermarkets. I had to search a few of them before I found it!

Aquaphor healing ointment

Pros:

  • This product feels exactly like petroleum jelly.
  • Because of this, it provides a very strong barrier against dryness and protects the skin
  • It does not contain fragrance or other ingredients which could irritate the skin.

Cons:

  • Again, this is exactly like petroleum jelly.
  • It made my skin feel quite greasy and did not absorb into my skin (which is what I expect of petroleum jelly). This means that I can only use this product at night.

Would I repurchase? No. I felt this is the same as Vaseline, which is a cheaper product.

Now, having said that, if you are interested in the Elizabeth Arden 8 hr Skin Protectant Cream – that too is exactly like petroleum jelly. If you are interested in trying out the legendary Elizabeth Arden cream, I suggest you try this one out first!

Review: Bath and Body Works Wild Madagascar Vanilla Body Lotion

I’m finally on the last of the Bath and Body Works products that I picked up while I was in Hawaii. In the winter, I don’t wear body lotion as the fragrance tends to make my skin itch. As the weather has turned warmer in Japan, I have really been getting back into my stash. This is a review of the Bath and Body Works Wild Madagascar Vanilla Body LotionBath and Body Works Wild Madagascar Vanilla Body Lotion
What it does: (from the Bath and Body Works website)

Vanilla like you’ve never experienced! An intoxicating blend of the world’s most desired vanilla, perfectly enhanced with African pear, wild jasmine and white sandalwood
Top Notes: African Pear, Sparkling Clementine, Ruby Apple
Mid Notes: Wild Jasmine, Wild Gardenia, Heliotrope Petals, Golden Plumeria
Dry Notes: Madagascar Vanilla, White Sandalwood, Creamy Musk

Price: $12.50 for 8 fluid ounces. I bought the travel size, which is $5 for 3 fluid ounces

Availability: Bath and Body Works products are available at free-standing BBW stores

Scent: This product has a fruity vanilla scent.  I definitely pick up on the pear.

Pros:

  • This is different from typical vanilla scents, which tend to be very sugary
  • This body lotion works well for me in the spring and early summer, when I want to moisturize my skin lightly
  • I like how the scent name is descriptive of the fragrance. *cough* Endless Weekend *cough*

Cons:

  • I wish Bath and Body Works would come up with a thicker body lotion!

Would I repurchase? Maybe. This may be my favorite new scent! But Bath and Body Works is always coming out with new scents, so by the time I get to the US again, I may buy something else!

Hope you enjoyed this review!

Review: Bath and Body Works Endless Weekend body lotion

This is a review of the Bath and Body Works Endless Weekend body lotion. This is one of body lotions I picked up when I went to Hawaii.

Over the winter this year, my skin became so dry and sensitive that I could not use any fragranced products on my skin.  When I applied body lotion, I ended up scratching myself for the entire day! I had to switch to applying non-fragranced baby oil after showering. Now that the weather is warmer and more humid, I am back to using my body lotions!

Bath and Body Works Endless Weekend

What it does: (from the Bath and Body Works website)

An exhilarating blend of raspberry lychee sorbet, sun-kissed magnolia and vanilla sandalwood.

Top Notes: Raspberry Lychee Sorbet, Sparkling Mandarin, Juicy Nectarine, Apple, Mirabelle Plum
Mid Notes: Sun-Kissed Magnolia, Gardenia, Plum Blossom, Fresh Picked Jasmine Sambac
Dry Notes: Vanilla Sandalwood, Vanilla Orchid, Blue Coconut Water, Sugared Musk

Price: $12.50 for the 8 fluid ounce bottle, $5 for the 3 fluid ounce bottle

Availability: Bath and Body Works products are available at free-standing stores in over 15 countries.  Unfortunately, Japan is not one of them!

Scent: This is a very sweet, fruity scent. I mainly smell the lychee and plum.

Pros:

  • If you like fruity scents, this may be a good product for you.
  • As with other Bath and Body Works body lotions, this is a light moisturizer.  I like to use it more in the warmer months.

Cons:

  • The scent was a little too fruity for me. It reminded me a lot of American fruit flavored candy, which is not really my preference when it comes to fragrances.

Would I repurchase? No. With so many scents available at Bath and Body Works, I’ll try to find something I like more!

Hope you enjoyed this review!

Review: Bath and Body Works Fresh Brazil Citrus Body Lotion

This is a review of the Bath and Body Works Fresh Brazil Citrus body lotion, which I picked up during my trip to Hawaii.

Bath and Body Works used to be one of my favorite brands for body lotion and shower gel. I was so excited when a free standing store opened in Hawaii a few years ago. Before that, I would beg friends who were coming to Japan from mainland US to buy some for me.

I have also realized that Bath and Body Works seems to be coming out with more and more new scents each year. I started to feel overloaded from all the press releases about their new scents for each season, and even for each holiday. I used to buy around 10 or so products each time I visited a store in the US, but now I pick up only a few.

What it does: (from the Bath and Body Works website)
Let your senses run wild with a sun-drenched mix of ripe citrus & sweet pineapple

Top Notes: Luscious Pineapple, Mango Nectar, Tangerine Fizz, Pomelo
Mid Notes: Tiare Bloom, Passion Flower, Peach Sorbet
Dry Notes: Sandalwood, Coconut Milk, White Musk

Price: I always purchase the travel size, which is $5 for 3 fluid ounces (88ml). The full size is $12.50 for 8 fluid ounces (236ml)

Availability: Bath and Body Works products are available at free-standing stores in over 15 countries.

Scent: I mainly smell pineapple and citrus from this product.  It has a tropical fruity scent.

Pros:

  • I like that this scent is light and not overpowering
  • I also like that this scent does not linger on my skin

Cons:

  • Like many other Bath and Body Works body lotions, I found that this product was not moisturizing enough for me in the middle of winter.

Would I repurchase? Maybe. While I liked the scent, Bath and Body Works keeps coming out with new  scents.  I might buy it if it gets rereleased, but I don’t think I’ll be buying any backups.

Hope you enjoyed this review!
