Throwback: Favorites from December

I’m a little behind on my throwbacks again… but let’s take a look!  Here are my favorite products from December 2013 and 2014.

In December 2014, I liked:

Sally Hansen Salon Effects (link goes to my review)

I really, really loved these. This is the only way I could do my nails, since I just can’t handle waiting for my nails to dry.  I’ve been too busy to do my nails for the past year or so, but I still love these, especially with a gel topcoat.

Jordana Color Tint Brush Sticks (link goes to my review)

Ahhh I loved these! I wanted to pick up some more Jordana products when I was in the US this past spring, but they were no where to be found!  The only place I could find them was on Jordana’s website.

Baby oil

This is what I use to moisturize my body.  Recently, I have been using olive oil instead, since the fragrance in baby oil was irritating my skin.  Plus, olive oil is cheaper!

In December 2013, I liked:

Sally Hansen Salon Effects

See, I really loved these!

Revlon ColorStay Whipped Creme Foundation (link goes to my review)

As I mentioned in a previous throwback, I no longer recommend this foundation. I loved it for a very long time, but it is simply too expensive for a drugstore foundation. I also don’t like the packaging, which is way to bulky!

Kiko Automatic Precision eyeliner in the color 712 (link goes to my review)

I had heard so much about Kiko, and I was so excited to go to a store when I was in Italy. The prices were very affordable, and I really enjoyed this brown eyeliner.

Hope you enjoyed seeing my past favorites!

Throwback: Favorites from November

It’s not Thursday, but here is a look back at my favorites from November 2013 and 2014.

In November 2014, I liked:

MAC Blush in Cantaloupe
I loved this blush! I’m not even sure where it is… I’ll need to dig it out.  I went to a lot of trouble to find this blush!!  This is a peachy pink without shimmer.

MAC  Studio Finish concealer in NW25

Amazingly, I used this up entirely.  It took a long time!  I like how full coverage this is.  I even use this under my eyes, blended with a beauty blender.

Estee Lauder Double Wear foundation (link goes to my review)

This is one of my most loved foundations, and pops up on my favorites regularly.  I was lucky enough to find a pump that fit it from Daiso.

In November 2013, I liked:

Although this was one of my favorite foundations for a long time, I don’t think I’ll ever repurchase this. The packaging is just too bulky!  Also, Revlon foundations are getting ridiculously expensive for a drugstore product.
Laneige firming sleeping pack(link goes to my review)
I never repurchased this because it is difficult to find in Japan. However, I’ve heard that it is now available at Target in the US! If you see it, I definitely recommend you pick it up.  Sleeping masks are a great easy way to pamper your skin while you sleep.  Amazingly, they don’t mess up your pillow!
Hope you enjoyed this look back at old favorites!

Throwback Thursday: Favorites from October

Here is a look back at my favorites from October 2013 and 2014.

In October 2014, I liked:

Pressed mineral shadows (link goes to my review)

I recently decluttered my eyeshadow collection, which made me realize how much I like certain shades. The Barry M Dazzle Dust in Mushroom is a beautiful taupe purple.

Maybelline Face Studio Master Glaze Blush Stick in Just Pinched Pink (link goes to my review)

I no longer own this, because the cap cracked past repair.  Cream blushes work better for me in the summer, but some people prefer them in the fall.

Shirt Cool spray (link goes to my review)

This is a must have for me in the hot months. I buy a bottle of it as soon as the weather starts to get warm. It smells strongly of menthol, though.

In October 2013, I liked:

Revlon ColorStay Whipped Creme Foundation (link goes to my review)

Remember when everyone was raving about this foundation? It seems like no one talks about Revlon foundations anymore. I was so surprised to see that Revlon foundations are like, $14 at the drugstore! I could buy something from Sephora for that price!!

Ecotools Bamboo bronzer brush (link goes to my review)

I’m not sure if this brush is still sold, but I still strongly recommend Ecotools brushes. They are all very soft, affordable, and eco-friendly.

It’s always interesting to see that some of my old favorites are staples in my collection, while I have totally forgotten about others!

Throwback Thursday: Favorites from September

Here is a look at my favorites in September 2013 and 2014.  September tends to be a hot month in Japan, so my favorites are still very summer-y!

In September 2013, I liked:

The Beauty Blender (link goes to my review)

I tend to go back to this every few months, even if I find another makeup sponge that I like.  I don’t like the price tag, and I don’t like how it bleeds color, but the texture is hard to beat.

VOV Daily Fresh Apple AHA Peeling Gel (link goes to my review)

This was one of the first AHA products that I have ever tried. I haven’t repurchased it these past few years, because it is hard to find in Japan. I’ll probably try it next time I go to Hong Kong or Korea.

In September 2014, I liked:

Make Up For Ever Mat Velvet + Foundation (link goes to my review)

I don’t know what it is that I love so much about this foundation!  It looks great on my skin, but the lasting power isn’t so fabulous.  I have repurchased this foundation, and I still use it regularly.

Jordana Color Tint Blush in Coral Touch (link goes to my review)

This was a great, affordable cream blush. I was planning on repurchasing it on my next trip to the US, but I couldn’t find it anywhere. It is available online for shipping to the US from Jordana’s website, so I strongly recommend it if you can get it.

Real Techniques Expert Face Brush (link goes to my review)

This is, by far, my favorite foundation brush. It gives a great buffed finish, it is soft on my skin, and it is affordable.  Although I have been using sponges almost exclusively recently, I still recommend this brush.

Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Brazilian Tan

This was part of a limited edition collection. This is a warm brown color with a hint of peach.  I realized this is the best nude color for my skin tone!

Throwback Thursday: Favorites from June

This month, I am revisiting my favorites from June 2013 and 2015. It seems I did not do a favorites in 2014!

(all links go to my reviews)

In June 2015, I liked:

L’Oreal True Match Super Blendable Makeup

I recently used up this foundation.  It works great for this time of year.

Jordana Cosmetics Color Tint Blush Sticks

I loved this product SO much.  I wanted to buy some more last time I was in the US, but I couldn’t find any Jordana products anywhere!Jordana Cosmetics Color Tint Blush Sticks

Maybelline Color Tattoo in Barely Branded

This is a very popular product, but I like using it as a cheek highlighter.

Maybelline Eye Studio Color Tattoo 24HR Cream Gel Shadow

 Milani eyeshadow primer

I’ve recently started using this product again, after using up my Urban Decay Primer Potion.  It is creamier than UDPP, but it still works great for my oily eyelids.

In June 2013, I liked:

Bath & Body Works Aromatherapy Energy Orange Ginger Lotion & Shower Gel

This is one of my favorite scents from Bath and Body Works, and one of the few that I have repurchased.

Martha Tilaar Caring Colours Everlast BB Cream

This is a local Indonesian BB cream that I picked up while I lived there.  It is really inexpensive and worked great at providing coverage in the heat and humidity.

Hope you enjoyed this look back at my past favorites!
