Throwback Thursday: Favorites from December

A little late, but better than never, right?  In this post, I am revisiting my favorites from December 2012 and 2013.

In December 2013, I liked:

Sally Hansen nail strips with gel topcoat

I haven’t been doing my nails recently, but I still love this combination. Considering how infrequently I do my nails, nail strips are the way to go.

Revlon Colorstay Whipped Creme Foundation (link goes to my review)

I really loved this foundation, but this is not my favorite anymore. I’ve found other foundations which work better for me in both the warmer and cooler months.

Kiko Automatic Precision Eyeliner in 712 (link goes to my review)

How interesting that I loved another brown twist up eyeliner from a European brand! I currently am enjoying another such eyeliner from Catrice.

In December 2012, I liked:

L’Oreal Infallible eyeshadows (link goes to my review)

I still love these, in every color that I own.  I should really do a round up, but I keep forgetting!

Hope you enjoyed this look back at my favorites!

Throwback Thursday: Favorites from November

I always enjoy taking a look at my previous favorites. This year, I am revisiting my favorites from 2013 and 2012.

In November 2013, I liked:

Revlon ColorStay Whipped Creme Foundation (link goes to my review)

This was also in my favorites in October as well. This is a whopping $20 in Japan, so I haven’t repurchased it after using it up. I wish it came in a smaller container!  Overall, I like the ColorStay liquid foundation better.

Laneige firming sleeping pack (link goes to my review)

I really like sleeping masks to pamper my skin easily. I prefer the Laneige Water Sleeping Pack to this one, although this is also a great product.

In November 2012, I liked:

Lush Twilight Shower Gel (link goes to my review)

This was a limited edition product for the 2012 holidays. I’m not sure whether it has been repromoted since.  I really enjoyed this product which has a really different scent from other typical holiday products.

Daiso false eyelashes (link goes to my review)

When I first posted about these false eyelashes, they were the only ones on the market which were affordable. Nowadays, every 100 yen store has several lines of false eyelashes. The ones shown below have a thick band, which makes them easy for me to put on, but a little uncomfortable to wear.

Hope you enjoyed looking back at my previous favorites!

Throwback Thursday: Favorites from October

It’s time to take a trip down memory lane, and revisit my favorites from years past. This time, I am taking a look at my favorites from October 2012 and 2013.

In October 2013, I liked:

Revlon Color Stay Whipped Creme Foundation (link goes to my review)

I haven’t repurchased this after using it up, as it is kind of expensive in Japan. While it was originally a favorite, I felt that it was too oily for me. Overall, I prefer using the normal Revlon ColorStay liquid foundation.

Ecotools Bamboo Bronzer brush (link goes to my review)

I don’t use this brush regularly because I don’t wear much bronzer lately, but I would still strongly recommend this brush. Ecotools brushes are very soft and are very affordable! This was an extremely dense brush and did a good job at blending out my bronzer.

In October 2012, I liked:

Daiso false lashes

These are no longer my favorite lashes, since the band is very stiff. I haven’t worn falsies for a while!

What were your favorites in past years?

Throwback Thursday: Favorites from September

It’s time for Throwback Thursday, where I take a look back my favorites from years past. This time, I’m going back to my favorites from September 2014, 2013, and 2012.

In September 2014, I liked:

Make Up For Ever Mat Velvet + Foundation

I can’t believe I’ve never done a review on this foundation, considering it was my go-to for several years! I liked how this foundation applied and how it looked on my skin. I really like that this comes in a squeeze tube. It is hygienic and does not take up space!

Jordana Color Tint Blush in Coral Touch (link goes to my review)

I go back to these every year. They are cheap, have great color payoff, and look fantastic on my skin. I have almost used them up, so I’m looking forward to repurchasing them next time I go to the US!

Real Techniques Expert Face Brush (link goes to my review)

Still a product I love and use daily! If you like to buff in your foundation, this is the brush to buy. It is cheap, soft, and applies my foundation beautifully. Also, it is small enough that I can even buff in concealer under my eyes.

Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Brazilian Tan

Ahhhh, I searched for this lipstick all throughout New York. Finally, another blogger told me I could find it in Flushing! This is the perfect nude lipstick for me. Not only do I like how it looks on me, I also use it to tone down brighter lipsticks.

In September 2013, I liked:

The Beauty Blender (link goes to my review)

Wow, I really haven’t been using makeup sponges since I fell in love with the Real Techniques foundation brush. I remember there was a distinct difference between the Beauty Blender (right) and the Sonia Kashuk sponge (left). I don’t know if there are any other companies which make makeup sponges which are as bouncy as the Beauty Blender, which is what I liked so much about it.

VOV Daily Fresh Apple AHA Peeling Gel (link goes to my review)

This mask was one of the first products I ever reviewed on this blog, and I still think it is a great product to gently exfoliate my face. I haven’t used it recently, but writing this blog post made me remember that I like to exfoliate my face towards the end of summer.

In September 2012, I liked:

Milani Baked Blush in Luminoso

I no longer own this blush and I am not sure why. This is one of those peachy-pink shimmer blushes, along the same lines as the NARS Orgasm blush. While I liked this product, I didn’t like how big the packaging was.

As always, it was extremely interesting to see what I liked in past years. This month, there was a nice mix of products I still love and use every day, products I had forgotten about, and products that I no longer count in my favorites.

Any products you have rediscovered lately?

Throwback Thursday: Favorites from July

This month, I revisited my favorites from July 2012 and 2014.   It seems that I didn’t do a favorites in July of 2013.  Let’s see if I still like my old favorite products!

In July 2014, I liked:

Shirt Cool Spray (link goes to my review)

This is a spray that is applied to clothing and keeps you cool. It seems that moisture (meaning my sweat!) activates this. The cool feeling lasted for about 30 min. This is a must-have for summer, and I have definitely started using it again!

Caring Colours Everlast BB cream (link goes to my review)

I am actually trying to use up this BB cream, since I have had it for 2 years… It is a great BB cream for the summer, making my skin color even while still feeling light.

Milani Shadow Eyez eyeshadow pencils (link goes to my review)

I recently brought only the Sand Dunes shade with me on a trip. This is a great quick wash of color, and I love using them for the summer. The tips tend to dry out, but the creaminess comes back once it is sharpened.

In July 2012, I liked:

L’Oreal Infallible eyeshadow in Iced Latte (link goes to my review)

In the summer, I continuously reach for either my Infallible eyeshadows or my Milani pencils. This color looks almost white on my skin and is a great inner corner highlight.

Wow, I am so consistent in the summer time. All of these products have been in my recent rotations!

Have you rediscovered any favorites recently?
