Hauling in New York – Part Two!

Here is Part 2 of my haul!

I realized I didn’t take pictures of some of the things I bought that I’ve already started using! I’ll try to find some pictures online!

I collect Starbucks City Mugs!
The one for New York was a bit boring, so I got this mug instead at the Metropolitan Museum of Art!

I went to Lush and got some things!

Angels on Bare Skin
Brazen Honey Fresh Face Mask (I love this so much I got two!)
Love Lettuce Fresh Face Mask
I realized that these containers leak… especially Brazen Honey!

New! Solid Shampoo
I went to Bath & Body Works and got 5 full sized items!
Velvet Tuberose Shower Gel and Body Lotion
This is a new scent for me, and I really like it!
Twighlight Woods Body Lotion
I love this scent so much…
…that I got the body splash as well!
Twilight Woods Body Splash
Moonlight Magic Shower Gel
I’m not sure yet if I like this one!

I went to MAC to Back 2 MAC
They were snotty again!  Either I don’t have the confidence to pull off shopping at the MAC, or I have too high standards from living in Japan!!!

 Silver Ring Eyeshadow

Goldmine Eyeshadow

I went to Target…
I’m not going to bore you with the multitude of other things I bought, but here are the beauty things!  Looking at it now, it’s not much!
(Mona kept wanting me to go to CVS with her!  I should have, because I did not get half the stuff on my wishlist!

NYC bronzer

L’oreal Voluminous Carbon Black Mascara

Cover Girl Lash Blast Volume Waterproof

Revlon Colorstay Liquid Eyeliner

 Neutrogena Makeup Remover wipes
These are SO much better than any wipes I can find in Japan!

Milani Liquif’ Eye Eyeliner
I got the black one, and it’s seriously LOVE!!
I should have gotten more!

Brush Cleanser
I’m pretty sure I got this at a drugstore somewhere!

Band-Aid Friction Block Stick

This is such a fantastic invention!  I buy one every time I go to the US!
ROC Deep Wrinkle Night Cream
This is the only anti-aging item I bought… even though I was planning to buy a LOT more!
The Sonia Kashuk Beauty Blender Dupe
I’ve tried both, and I like the Beauty Blender more.  Then again, I think this is pretty good for $10!

Isn’t it funny how American girls buy Japanese magazines, and I like to buy American magazines???
Real Simple is my LOVE.  Too bad it’s not shipped here!
That’s it!  Not too much!!
I really was planning on going crazy, but something held me back…
I think that when I went to Target, I didn’t buy everything I wanted, but then I got over my urge to haul!  Oh well!!

December Ageha issue – part 2

Continuing from my previous post, here’s some more “top 3” skin care stuff featured in the December issue of Ageha!

Before that… another screen shot!

This is what the page looks like!

Makeup removers: 1 – Biore Make Otoshi Perfect Oil, 2 – Biore Make Torokeru Liquid, 3 – DHC Deep Cleansing Oil
Cleansing oils are VERY popular in Japan and are probably the mainstream when it comes to makeup removers!  I like all three of these.  1 & 2 are frequently on sale, so I buy them more often.

Cleanser: 1 – Sengan Senka Perfect Whip, 2 – Dove Beauty Moisture, 3 – Biore Facial Wash
I LOVE Pefect Whip!  Along with my facial foaming net, it makes a really creamy rich lather!
A side note – I think most Japanese girls use cleansers after using makeup removers!

Toner: 1 – Rohto Hada Labo Gokujyun Hydraulic Acid Toner, 2 – Nameraka Honpo Soy Milk Toner, 3 – Rohto Hada Labo Hakujyun Whitening Toner
Toners (meant to moisturize your skin, not prep it) are very normal in Japanese skin care.  I have personally used all three of these.  A lot of people know I LOVE the Gokujyun one!  I also use the Hakujyun one a lot!!  All three of these are usually discounted at the drugstore.

Sheet Masks: 1 – Bihada Ichizoku Bihada Sara Sheet Mask (the pink one), 2 – Bihada Ichizoku Kurobara Kamen Sheet Mask (the black one), 3 – Clear Turn White Mask Q10a
Bihada Ichizoku is popular here as well!  I like both of these a lot!!  The only problem is that they are sold individually!!

Another screen shot!

This issue was a great read!  It even has categories like favorite eye drops, favorite gum, favorite thing to get at Starbucks, favorite laundry detergent, favorite painkiller, etc!  I really want to try out some of the stuff mentioned in this issue!!

December Ageha issue – part 1

The December issue of Ageha is always my favorite because they share all their “top 3s”, similar to US magazines such as Allure.  The big difference is that (1) it is based on readers’ votes (why did Allure stop doing this???) and (2) they have a whole lot of non-beauty stuff as well.

A few screen shots…

The fashion section
These girls’ faces are actually photoshop collages of girls regularly featured on Ageha!
For example, number 1 girl’s face consists of the eyes which were voted number 1, the lips voted number 1, etc.  The same goes for the number 2 face and the number 3 face!

Here are some of the “top 3” items and what I thought about them.

Blush: 1 – Canmake Powder Cheeks PW20, 2 – Chanel Joues Contraste Powder Blush #44, 3 – Bihada Ichizoku Hitomebore Cheek Pink
Canmake is a cheap brand, but their blushes are pretty good!

Mascara: 1 – Dejavu Fiberwig Extra Long, 2 – Maybelline Volume Extra Turbo Boost, 3 – Majorica Majorica Lash Expander Frame Plus
I really like Dejavu because there is no way I’ll get smudges!  Majomajo is a blogger favorite, but I personally don’t like comb applicators!

Eyeshadow: 1 – Kate Diamond Cut Eyes BR1, 2 – Kate Gradical Eyes BR3, 3 – Kate Reflect Mirror Eyes BR1
Wow, all Kate!  The Gradical Eyes line has been around forever and I hit pan on one I bought about 2 years ago!  I did not like the Diamond Cut Eyes (not pigmented enough) or the Mirror Eyes (too glittery).  I’m hoping Kate will come up with better palettes soon!

They also had top liquid/powder foundations, primers, concealers, face powders, highlighters, contour powder, eyeliner, false eyelashes, lipstick, lipgloss, etc!  Let me know if you want to know about them!!

Oh – they also had eyebrow stuff… 3 separate categories!  It shows you how serious we are about our eyebrows!!

Next up – the skincare stuff!

My favorite magazine – ageha

There is one magazine that I buy religiously every month. It is called “Koakuma (little devil) ageha”

What makes this magazine different is that most of the models are “Mizushobai” girls. What is mizushobai? Please look here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mizu_sh%C5%8Dbai
Basically they provide companionship to men in special bars and clubs.

Of course they are very beautiful girls!!! I love this magazine because it is so outrageous. The hair and makeup is waaaaayyyyy too out there for me to wear everyday.

Still, there are a few tips I can get here and there and I LOVE this magazine!!!

How this girl puts on makeup…

A comparison on different girls’ eyeliners

Hair color…

This magazine is becoming so popular now and it has a big impact on mainstream Japanese makeup/fashion. For example, falsies are very popular for everyday use because these girls use falsies all the time!

Isn’t it interesting how we all want what we can’t have? I’ve seen American girls buy Japanese magazines ($8 in Japan) for $15 in the US, and some of my Japanese friends buy Cosmo & Glamor for $10.

Me? I have a yearly subscription to Allure. Yeah, we all want what we can’t have!
