Review: Revlon Photoready Skinlights Face Illuminator in Bare Light

This is a review of the Revlon Photoready Skinlights Face Illuminator in Bare Light, which I picked up on one of my trips to the US.

When this product was first released, it was a limited edition product. I searched around for it after reading many reviews online.

When I first tried the product, I was unfortunately disappointed. The product did not blend well into my skin, and also did not absorb well.

I tried it again recently with a makeup sponge, and it works much better! Previously, I tried using a stippling brush or my fingers, but the product was just too liquidy.  I found that using a sponge absorbs enough liquid to make it easy to use.

What it does: (from the Revlon website)

The iconic skin illuminator is now better than ever. Banish dullness and even out skin with light capturing crystals and photochromatic pigments for a lit-from-within look.

• Wear alone to highlight and brighten
• Mix with or wear over foundation to banish dullness and even out skin tone
• Available in 4 luminous shades

Price: Varies. I found it around $6.50.

Availability: Revlon is widely available in US drugstores, supermarkets, and discount stores.

What I thought:

This product gives me a subtle highlight. The liquid itself is shimmery, but I get a subtle highlight because I use a sponge to apply it.  I found that I like using powder or cream highlighters better than liquid ones!

Would I repurchase? No
