Review: Maybelline Volum Express The Falsies Push Up Drama Mascara

This is a review of the Maybelline Volum Express The Falsies Push Up Drama Mascara. This is a new mascara in the Maybelline Volum Express line, and I picked it up when I went to the US.

What it does: (from the Maybelline website)
Lashes so lifted, so dramatic. Dare to get the Push Up Effect.  Push up cup brush with cup-shaped bristles scoops and lifts lashes. New creamy plumping formula delivers instant volume and holds lift in place

Price: The price will vary, as with all US drugstore products. A quick google search said $9.50

Availability: This and other Maybelline products are widely available in the US, in drugstores and discount stores.

This mascara has a rubber bristle brush. The bristles are widely spaced, which reminded me of the claim saying they were “cup shaped bristles”. The wand is fairly thin and easy to maneuver around my eyes.

What I thought: This mascara deposited A LOT of mascara on my lashes. Because the bristles are widely spaced, a lot of mascara sticks to the wand and is transferred to my lashes. Even after a month of using it, this mascara made my lashes very clumpy.

I started wiping the wand before using it, in order to remove some of the excess mascara. Even with less mascara on the wand, I found that I had smudging under my eyes.

Would I repurchase?  No. This mascara was clumpy and smudgy, and did not work for me.

In general, Maybelline mascaras work pretty well for me, so I was disappointed with this one!

Hope you enjoyed this review!
