I have a love/hate relationship with lipstick. I know it makes me look good, it also makes me feel great, but a lot of lipsticks make my lips peel. Even if I exfoliate my lips before putting on the lipstick, skin will start to peel off within an hour.
This happens to me even with moisturizing lipsticks. Because of this, I don’t really love lipstick… and so I don’t like to spend money on them. This was a great chance for me to try out a high end lipstick brand!
This is a review of the Make Up For Ever Rouge Artist Natural in N9. This was part of the Sephora Beauty Insider birthday gift for 2014.
What it does: (from the MUFE website)
Rouge Artist Natural has an ultra creamy formula that hydrates the lips with a natural sheen. Enriched with a cocktail of vegetal ingredients, made of waxes and Cupuassu Butter, it contains nourishing properties for a moisturizing smooth texture that glides on effortlessly. Its translucent shine reveals pure pearls and pigments for a profusion of 50 luminous shades . Rouge Artist Natural makes it possible to find a color to suit every mood!
Availability: This and other MUFE products are available at MUFE stores, Sephora, MUFE counters in department stores, as well as online.
Swatch: This lipstick is a creamy dark pink color with no shimmer. It is slightly redder than a typical “My Lips But Better” shade, yet I enjoy this color year round.
- This is a very creamy lipstick which did not make my lips peel
- The color as well as the lack of shimmer made this color wearable for every day
- The size that was in the Sephora gift was about half the size of traditional lipsticks. I wish this size were available for purchase normally, since I can never use up a lipstick!
Cons: None, really
Would I repurchase? Yes, I really liked both the color and how it felt on my lips!
I am so glad I got to try out this lipstick! Both the formula and the shade worked for me, and the small size made it a staple in my makeup bag. I wonder why this size is not normally available, from any brand?
Hope you enjoyed this review!
