Monthly Favorites #47: November, 2014

 (picture from my Instagram account)

It has been quite beautiful lately in Japan.  I wish it was this weather throughout the year. Yes, I know that Japan is famous for its four distinct seasons, and the difference in the seasons is a very integral part of Japanese culture.

However..

I really don’t like how cold and dark it gets in the winter. I have a hard time waking up in the morning unless I turn on the heat in the mornings.  I also really dislike that it is cold and dark when I go to work, and cold and dark when I get home.  Oh well, it’s better than it was when I lived in China, where it stayed below freezing from November to March.

On to my favorites!

MAC Blush in Cantaloupe
After months and months of using only cream blushers, I have finally gone back to using a powdered cheek product!  I think I used my cream blushers for 6 months straight, since buying them in New York in April.

MAC  Studio Finish concealer in NW25
I finally  used up the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind concealer, and since the weather is getting cooler, I came back to an old favorite.  Many people say not to use this for undereye circles, but I think it works fine when I use a buffing brush.

Estee Lauder Double Wear foundation
I also changed my foundation from the MUFE Mat Velvet + to the Estee Lauder Double Wear, which is a little creamier. I wear this foundation extremely sheer, which gives me the long lasting finish without the cakiness.  What I love best is this pump which I found at Daiso, which exactly fit the container!

iPhone 6
This is the first time I have bought an iPhone in Japan, since SIM lock free phones have only recently become available. Japanese phones are required to have a shutter sound, even if the phone is on silent, and the sound is pretty loud! I like that I can edit the rotation and lighting of a picture in the iPhone now – all of the pictures in this post were taken with an iPhone!
