Revisiting old favorites: May 2011 & 2012

One of the Youtube channels which I have recently started watching recently is Kristen Gehm. She uses Throwback Thursday to revisit a previous favorites video once a month.  I thought it would also be interesting for me to see what I used to love some years ago.

In May 2011 & 2012, I was living in China, so these are all products which I hauled elsewhere and brought with me.
Do I still love my favorites?

I still like this product quite a lot, but it was hard to find last time I was in New York. It could be because of the recent focus on microbead pollution. (edited: this product does not contain microbeads. Thanks to reader Apple for pointing that out!) I loved that with a little effort, I can make this product foam up and therefore use it as my daily cleanser. I also absolutely loved the scent.
NYX Jumbo Eyeshadow pencils – No
This product was all the rage in the beauty blogger community when I started blogging in (gasp) 2009.  Since then, other jumbo eyeshadows have come out that have great pigmentation and do not crease.  Unfortunately, the NYX jumbo eyeshadow pencils can no longer keep up with the progress of other beauty products.

Suave Dry Shampoo – Kind of
Dry shampoos are still not sold in Japan, although “volumizing sprays” (which are essentially the same thing) have started becoming more popular. I still buy a bottle of dry shampoo when I go to the US, and I usually use it up completely before I go back to Japan. I still love dry shampoos, but I haven’t met the one brand that I love.
L’Oreal Infallible eyeshadow in Iced Latte – Definitely Yes!
I love wearing Infallible eyeshadows when the weather gets warmer and my makeup starts becoming a hassle. This is a great inner corner highlight.  Although the pot still looks pretty full, it is about half full compared to the Infallible eyeshadow I just purchased.
Let me know what you think of these revisits!
xoxo, K
