Oh wow, the weather is suddenly getting warmer! The end of March and the beginning of April is a special time in Japan. The school year starts in April, most businesses have big changes starting in April, and of course, there is Sakura season. I was wearing a down coat until a week ago, but now it is warm enough to go outside just a sweatshirt during the day!
On to my Ups and Downs!
March has been a month where I really had to work with foundation. I used up my winter moisturizer and switched to a lighter moisturizer thinking the weather would warm up quickly. When it didn’t, my skin got really dry! Even after I switched back to a heavier moisturizer, I had to play around until I found a foundation combination which worked for me!

I tried using Make Up For Ever Mat Velvet+ for a while, but it cracked on my skin. Then I switched to Revlon Colorstay Whipped Creme, which was too wet. Finally I switched back to the Estee Lauder Double Wear, but I need to use less than I did a few months ago. Quite a frustrating month for foundation!
(both the MUFE and Revlon foundations are favorites of mine – I guess my skin isn’t ready for them right now!)

With the spring weather, I have really been into using pinks and purples on my eyes!
Not wearing an eyeshadow primer
I have found that if I wear eyeshadow primer with these pressed pigments, they don’t blend well and also crease heavily. I think it is because I used a mixing medium which includes glycerin when I pressed them. They actually go on great and last quite well without a primer!
Weather is getting warmer
Yes!!! I am soooo happy! My favorite time of the year in Japan is late March through early June – the weather is great and the days get longer!
I still like this primer, but I have found that with the warmer weather, this primer has stopped working for me. I need to find another primer which is sweat proof. Does something like that actually exist?
How was your March?
