Review: Bath and Body Works Aromatherapy Stress Relief Eucalyptus Spearmint shower gel

I am going to start out by saying that I did not like this product.  However, it is not really the fault of the product, and I guess I should really blame myself.  I really do hope that it works for other people, and that it was unfortunate that it didn’t work for me.

When I was a child, I did not understand the concept of stress. I distinctly remember not understanding why people got so tired when they did not move their bodies.  Obviously this has changed as I grew older, and unfortunately I am often stressed out at work.

I don’t know if aromatherapy actually helps in relieving stress, but I do like using scented oils in my diffuser. This is a review of the Bath and Body Works Aromatherapy Stress Relief Eucalyptus Spearmint shower gel. This is another product in the Bath and Body Works Aromatherapy line.  I have previously reviewed other products in this line, such as the Sleep Lavender Chamomile, Sleep Lavender Vanilla, and Energy Orange Ginger. What it does: (from the Bath and Body Works website)

This fast-foaming body wash is infused with soothing skin conditioners, while an aromatherapy blend of essential oils and natural ingredients benefit body, mind & mood. For a bubbly bath, add a couple ounces to warm, running water. Breath deeply for best results. Not tested on animals Eucalyptus essential oil clears the mind while Spearmint Essential Oil uplifts to help improve concentration

Price: The full sized bottle is $13 for 10 oz.  I purchased the travel size, which is $5 for 2 oz.
Scent:  The only way to describe it is… spearmint and eucalyptus.  Really.

Availability: Bath and Body Works products are available at free-standing Bath and Body Works stores in the US, and also in several countries worldwide.
  • Like other shower gels from Bath and Body Works, this product cleans the skill well without stripping it.

  • I kept thinking that I had smelled this product before… and realized that it smells like the product I use to clean my toilet.
Would I repurchase? No. The scent is just too similar to my household cleaner.
Ugh!  I really was looking forward to trying out this scent!!  I wonder if I would have liked this product better if I didn’t use that particular toilet cleanser. I have read a lot of blogs mentioning that products with citrus or mint scents tend to smell similar to household cleansers, but this is the first time this has happened to me!  Now I understand how a scent can make or break a product!
