Review: Lush I Love Juicy shampoo

I have mentioned before that I have a closet full of beauty care staples that I accumulated while I lived abroad. In addition, I have 3 boxes full of stuff, and most of it is either bath care or skin care.  I am trying VERY HARD to use stuff up before buying anything new.

At the same time… I still want to buy something when I pass by my nearest Lush store!  This is a review of the Lush I Love Juicy shampoo that I picked up recently.

What it does: (from the Lush UK website)
We’ve harnessed the power of fruit enzymes in this bottle, to clean and dissolve away grease, dirt and product build up. But because strong shampoos can often leave your hair feeling like straw, we’ve also added carrageen seaweed to this shampoo base, to leave the hair feeling soft, not frazzled. Together they give hair that is clean, bouncy and fresh. Finished with a bright citrus fragrance to compliment the experience and leave you feeling squeaky clean and uplifted. The juice we use in this needs to be as fresh as can be, so that all the active enzymes are still present. So no bottle or carton juice for us! Instead we take the fresh fruits of mango, pineapple, kiwi and papaya and whizz them in a blender. We then pass the pulp through muslin cloth, to get the freshest possible juice to go straight into our shampoo base.

Price: 5.25GBP/100g, $9.95/3.3 fl. oz, 800JPY/100g

Scent: Another blogger posted that this smells like key lime pie. It definitely smells like limes.

Pros:

  • My hair felt soft after using this
  • I like the scent
  • After using this product, my hair felt “squeaky clean”, but not stripped

Cons:

  • Somehow, my scalp became itchy afterwards

Would I repurchase? No.  An itchy scalp is definitely a deal breaker, even though I liked the other aspects of this product!

Hope you enjoyed this review!

xoxo, K
