Review: Lush Bon Bon Lip Scrub

This is a review for the Lush Bon Bon Lip Scrub.  This was a limited edition product from the holidays (yes, I shouldn’t post reviews so late…) and may no longer be available.

This product is fairly thick, as you can see below.

What it does: contains white icing sugar (powdered sugar in the US), sugar, almond oil, cranberry seed oil, lemon oil, and citric acid, to exfoliate and moisturize lips.

Price: $8.95 or 4.95 GBP

Scent: This smells very strongly of sweet lemons – like how lemons infused in sugar smell.  It does not smell like household cleanser.  I like this scent a lot!

– Did a good job in exfoliating my lips
– Completely edible, which is a great thing on your lips. It tastes good, too!

– Not very hydrating.  I definitely needed a lip balm afterwards.
– You could make a similar product by yourself by mixing sugar and oil

Would I repurchase?  I’m not sure.  While this was a great product, and I really need to exfoliate my lips regularly, I’m not sure if I can justify the $9 for a product I could make myself!

Hope you enjoyed my review!

xoxo, K

  1. I love lush so much 🙂
But sometimes I think they take far too high prices!

Why don’t you try to make it on your own and you write something about it here? I would be really interested! 🙂

  2. Wow, what a fabulous idea!  I’ll try my hand at making beauty products soon!

  3. I have always been curious about lip scrubs but never actually tried them. Thanks for the review x

  4. This sounds divine, thank you for posting.

You have a wonderful blog, I will difintily be checking back to read more of your posts.  Good luck with the blog, although I am sure you do not need it!

  5. i have this one too! i haven’t tried it yet but your review makes me want to, as soon as my cold sore goes away!

  6. I take it the citric acid is just for the flavor? I went to Lush this week and all they had were a chocolate, bubble gum, and mint julep flavor. I hope they’ll have more flavors in the future, even if just LE!
