Up & Down #4 / A Piece of Me… in June 2010!

It’s June!!!  June in Japan is rainy season (called Tsuyu)!  Unlike rainy seasons in other parts of the world, it rains for ENTIRE DAYS during Tsuyu!  We will have 3-4 days of consecutive rain, and then a sunny day.  I prefer rainy seasons where it just rains HARD for a few hours each day!

Ups:
– Barry M Dazzle Dusts.   Now that I’ve pressed them, they are SO easy to use!  I love how pigmented they are!

Swatches are from my blogpost here.

nail polish!  I’m very bad at painting my nails, plus I do too much stuff with my nails.  That’s why I have never grown my nails long, and I was never a nail polish wearer.  Recently, I’ve been getting into nail polish… I blame the beauty blogger community!!!

(Not my picture – this was the first picture on google image search)

finally “getting” how to use eye primers.  Eye primers never really worked for me, until I finally figured out that I was using it wrong!  I guess I never learned correctly since Youtube videos typically skip over this part!

Downs:
– really tough days at the office.  ‘Nuff said.

– people problems.  Did you know that 80% of people who quit their jobs do so because of people problems (boss, coworkers, etc)?

It’s also the time of the month to join Notes from the Toothfairy in A Piece of Me!

This month…

I like: that I was able to write a creative blogpost.  Even though many people have compared the Beauty Blender and the Sonia Kashuk sponge, I’m glad I could contribute something new by showing the difference in density!  Thank you for your support! (see my post here)

I don’t like: that I have continued to have people problems.  It is emotionally draining.

I want you to know: that I really, really appreciate all the love I receive on twitter and through comments on my blog.  Thank you so much for letting me know you care!

I’ve planned: nothing much!  I’m starting to get the itch to go somewhere!

I want to say to someone special: Thank you for your love and support!

xoxo, K

  1. oo the pressed barry M pigments are super pretty!

i hope things will improve for you… it is draining and I think if you have to out up with it day in day out, who wouldnt quit?! take it easy!

  2. You’ve obviously never been to Vancouver, lol. In Vancouver it rains the entire day, almost everyday, from late Sept to Feb/March XD I think the record # of rainy days in Vancouver is 28 straight consecutive days of rain. Now that is something that will make ppl go AHHHH and then run away XD

Those Barry M pigments look so nice! Makes me regret not getting any when I was in UK =(

  3. Hi! I really don’t like the rainy season either! Thankfully it hasn’t really started up here in Tokyo….but I know its coming. Let’s hope for a short one this year! πŸ˜‰

  4. aww thanks for sharing. I really enjoyed your beauty blender/sonia kashuk review, I think I am going to get the beauty blenders now after reading your review πŸ™‚ hehehe yay for density test :p

those dazzledusts are super pigmented! pretty πŸ™‚

I totally know what you mean about people problems at work πŸ™ sigh so stressful and it’s not even the world itself! πŸ™ hope things will be better for you during june! yucky raining season!! πŸ™

    *hugsss*

  5. Those Barry M shadows look amazing!! πŸ˜€

    Hope work gets less stressful for you and the people problems go away… I hate people problems… ;_;

  6. yay on finally getting used to using primers, I don’t use eyeshadow for the whole summer so I gave my UDPP a huge skip! Maybe it’ll be back for the rainy season!

  7. Rainy seasons! I missed the Philippines! I used to play under the rain.. It’s so much fun! ^^ Anyway, I hope the people problem will be over soon. I don’t like having misunderstanding with other people as much as possible. It makes life so sad.

And yay for nailpolish! Yeah blogger community influences me on lots of things too! -.- :p

  8. those barry m pigment swatches look awesome!

what are your tips on using primer? just wondering (: we all have our diff applications i suppose and i want to know what yours is!

  9. Hey K! Thanks for posting this.

The pressed pigments are really pretty! I can’t remember where but on one of the blogs I read on how to press them. Seems too complicated for me to want to do. (Not that I have any pigment powders–only Bare Mineral eye shadow powders).

I love your blog–you always post such interesting things.

Hang in there! I hope that things get better.

  10. YAY for learning how to use primers!!

I’m honestly NOT suprised that most people quit their jobs because of people problems…it’s a major reason I quit my last job. I hope everything works out for you. *hugs*

  11. Oh the dazzle dust pressed look good!

Yes eye primers make a diff, that’s one of the first things I learned when I started blogging! LOL!

I hope you people problems get better soon! I know you’ve been frustrated a lot lately! πŸ™

  12. the pressed dazzle dusts look great – I pressed some mineral shadows a while back and they’re so much easier to use (though I have to re-press some blushes that refuse to dry =T)! I’m not surprised that most people quit their jobs b/c of people problems, even with the way things are going right now.

lol beauty blogging has totally enabled me to nearly triple my nail polish collection in the past year, but it’s fun to be painting nails again!
