review: Skinfood Shea Butter Hair Mask

This is a review for the Skinfood Shea Butter Hair Mask!

This is one of the products that was recommended to me in my Korea shopping list giveaway!

What it’s supposed to do: (from the Skinfood Singapore site)
A moisturizing hair mask that protects hair from external irritation such as UV rays and free radicals, its shea butter adds a lustrous coat to dry, dull hair. Also contains polyquaternium-10 to coat each damaged hair, resulting in shinier and healthier hair.

Price: 5900 Korean Won for 100g (a little less than $5)

My almost finished pot!

Pros:
– SUPER cheap! (However, Japanese hair masks contain more product)
– Does a pretty good job of conditioning my hair
– smells faintly sweet and buttery… but not too sweet!

Cons:
– the texture is a lot thicker than Japanese hair masks. It took some getting used to.
– does not spread very well on my hair.

Did I like it? Yes. Would I buy it again if SF were available in Japan? I’m not sure.

This product really took some getting used to. The smell is very different for me since I’m used to the flowery smell of Japanese hair products (if you’ve used Lux, that is a pretty typical scent). The texture is very thick and in the beginning I could not spread it through my hair very well. I did like that it moisturized my hair. I’ve never used shea butter by itself, so this was very interesting!

Hope everyone is having a great week!!!

xoxo, K
