Advice: EDM?

I washed my EDM FTK & LHK brush recently and it took nearly a day to dry… I was so tempted to blow dry them!!! hahaha

Today I need advice from the lovely beauty blogger community.

I am thinking of placing an order to EDM for their Personal Custom Kit Full and I need your help to chose a few more products!

I switched to MMU about two months ago after ordering a sample kit from EDM and it is SO much easier for me!!! Their samples are very generous and they last about a month on me!!

For those of you who haven’t used Everyday Minerals yet (yeah, I know everyone and their mother has used EDM, but who knows?), they have a kit which allows you to pick 6 products for $34+shipping.

Considering most of their full-size foundations are $12 and most of their brushes are around $10, this is a big savings! If I buy more than three things, I should just get a custom kit!

I’m going to get the following things:
– Full-sized foundation (Light Olive Intensive)
– Full-sized blush (Waffle Cone)
– Flat Top Brush (I LOVE my FTB, but I want another one as a backup)
– Full-sized Concealer (Intensive Medium)
Any more suggestions?

– Natural Reflections Light
– Blush – Snuggle
– Golden Light Intensive Foundation (I have one already)

Things to think about:
– I am thinking of getting the EDM e/s brush, but since it is less than $6 ($34/6 items = around $6 per item), I think I’ll get it separately
– I am a little wary of highly pigmented blushes, especially red/berry colors.
– The Mint Concealer did not work for me. It washes me out and makes me look ill!
– I’m wary of their e/s since I do not think I can use them up. I have the Golden Globes Palette which I LOVE, but not sure of the Sandcastle eye palette.

Thank you in advance for your help!!!

xoxo, K

  1. i didnt know u wanted edm! i could of ordered like a few for you includin samples… ! heehe i was using EDM foundation after my bare minrals (which broke me out like crazy) so i switched to EDM i thought it was realy good.. since i have sensitive skin n all.. i have to make sure stuff i use isent like BM.. but anyways, after awhile i noticed EDM started makin me really oily/shiny.. like this glow.. n my Tzone area just got really worse.. so i just switched to the drug store brands.. but i hope u find wut u need! im not good at choosin makeup =X

  2. All of my EDM have always been the sample kits! LOL! They last long, and always give me a chance to try a new shade.

Their Flat Top Buffer Brush IS love isn’t it?! *sigh*

Don’t forget to get one of the Finishing Powders. It does make a diff. Especially if you have oily/combo skin like me.

  3. Hi K, I’m a silent reader of yours for months now 🙂 One of my personal favorites is the mint concealer, use a very very very light hand before foundation to get rid of the redness on my cheeks when I have them. Also, have you considered any of the finishing powders? Getting another foundation in a diff color might be a good idea too, plus you can mix and match them during the summer days when you get tanner, or winter days when you get paler, etc…FTK is my love too : ) And you are right, except for the SUPER long drying time! hahaha

  4. I’m one of those people who has never tried EDM! ahaha

How about a bronzer? ‘Soft bronzer’ has good reviews on MUA… Hmmm, come to think of it, I don’t know if you’re into bronzers, you’ve never mentioned it in your e-mails to me ;p

  5. Hi! I would recommend their eye shadow palette. I’ve only tried their sample kits and eyeshadows and I think they have gorgeous colours. They’re also coming out with new lip colours next week so I would wait until then to see if there’s anything there you like.

  6. Just wanted to let you know that I have not tried this brand yet :-P.
(Well, I do live in Europe & can’t shop online ;D.)
But I’ll be getting some of their products in a swap & I can’t wait to try them ^_^!

  7. Maybe you can get a finishing powder? I am rather fond of their finishing powders like the Sunlight Finishing Dust or something like that. I also love their blushes!! I like Summer Stroll and Apple, but Apple may be a little too “red”. OH and their short handled kabuki brush! That is my fav brush for applying mineral foundation. Haha hope that helps 🙂 Let us know what you decided on!

  8. I’m soooooo stoked that I found my Lux shampoo/conditioner set tonite for $5.99
and I saw your TWIT/TWEET — I don’t know how they make their moolah!

they also had the larger sizes the shampoo was $15.99 (cond. too) and the refills were $9.89 — so not tooo bad ey?

I’m content with the small ones I found, and just refill them cuties when they’re empty. Thanks again for sharing a new product to love!!! ♥

  9. waffle cone is a great blush 🙂 do you like pink blushes? nic nack is a really nice, light pink blush. their finishing powders are nice too, i like the sunlight one

  10. hmm i’m not really sure about they’re makeup since i’ve never tried them. but the brushes are great! aren’t they uber soft? you could also try the angled blush brush.

  11. hope it’s not too late to add my comment 🙂

i’ve tried their snuggle blush and it’s not highly pigmented. i find it wearable and rather natural-looking (for reference, i have medium light to medium skintone with golden undertones). i like it. i also really like their concealer brush, since it doesn’t irritate the skin on my undereyes.

    following your blog! 🙂
